Arnold Scaasi Polka Dot Purse
Arnold Scaasi Polka Dot Purse
Look how cute this purse is! This is one of those times where I picked something up just because I thought it was great looking, but as I photographing it, I started to notice how well it was made. When I researched the label, I found out the Scaasi, or Arnold Scaasi, was a prominent designer first employed by Charles James! After designing successful lines in the ‘50s, Scaasi went on to make couture clothes for a whole host of prominent labels in the ‘60s.
I believe this little gem of a bag is from the ‘80s or early ‘90s when he branched out into ready to wear. From the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource website: “The Scaasi Boutique label was started in 1984. This line was top quality ready-to-wear, and was beautifully made and quite expensive.”
This bag features jacquard canvas, with a leather interior and leather trim and strap. It’s a great trapeze shape and the perfect size for a cross body. It has one interior zipper pocket.
Condition: Very good. Slight tarnish to the “S” logo on the front, but otherwise in excellent condition.
